As Melbourne’s population increases, so too do the challenges of delivering on the transport task to maintain the accessibility that is so much a part of Melbourne’s status as one of the world’s most liveable cities.

The role of public transport is a cornerstone of maintaining Melbourne’s mobility. With this comes a need for transport planners and decision makers to challenge past thinking that forms the basis of transport decisions.

The task of Melbourne’s public transport franchisees has never been more challenging, with record increases in patronage levels across a growing city. Speakers representing our bus, tram and train franchisees will present on their experiences and aspirations in delivering on the city’s public transport needs, and their expectations of transport planners and key decision makers.

This Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss Melbourne’s transport challenges, the trends and challenges ahead for planners, franchisees and decision makers alike.
